Devil’s Punchbowl Natural AreaThis is a unique nature preserve located along the Big Rock Creek. It gets its name because it is basically a large bowl shaped concavity in the earth, corralled by 300-foot high rock walls.
Getting to the bottom of the Devil’s Punchbowl means a one-mile hike. Along the way you might see some of the wildlife native to the Antelope Valley: snakes, birds of prey, lizards and others. Admission to the park is free and it is open every day. Joe Davies Heritage AirparkJoe Davies is an aerospace museum that is located adjacent to the United States Air Force Plant 42, a military aircraft research center. At Joe Davies, you’ll be able to see various new and historic aircraft on display. Dry Town Water ParkDuring the dry months, the heat can get oppressive. Cool off at the Dry Town Water Park, where the whole family can have fun in the various water slides and pools.
Great Western Soaring SchoolIf what you’re craving is an adrenaline rush mixed with some beautiful vistas, go to Great Western and fly an engineless sail plane over the San Andrea’s Fault and the pine trees of the San Gabriel Mountains.
